High Wycombe U18 5 vs. 2 Teddington U18
Despite losing several key players to regional tournaments and (would you believe it) Sunday jobs, this young High Wycombe side beat a good opposition by a more than convincing score line. After 5 minutes of early pressure from Teddington, Wycombe reversed the flow and dominated the midfield in attack and defence. 2 goals came from Charlie Olley, with a drag flick and a goalmouth scramble, and Mike Carter after a move down the right.
Half-time saw the score at 3-0, but Teddington came out hard in the second half and the game became more open, Wycombe perhaps guilty of losing their shape. Charlie Olley completed his hat-trick from another penalty corner, but Wycombe then conceded twice, cutting the lead to two goals. However, the game was sealed after David Maunder scored a deflection goal in the final minutes. Well done to everyone on a fantastic effort, given that this line-up had never played together before.
